Energy & Gas Aggregation Updates

September 7, 2022

In 2015 voters passed aggregation programs in Fairfield Township.  Since that time the program has been renewed twice for gas and once for electric.  The next electric contract will be negotiated soon - pricing for electric will be solidified by the end of this month.

Recently the GCR has been very volatile but Energy Alliances have done a great job of watching the market to lock in best pricing.  In addition EA will continue to chase futures and blend down prices when able.

NATURAL GAS FAQ'S

A new contract has recently been negotiated.  Storage of gas as been at a 6 year low with demand increasing.  The new gas rate has come in at $.839 which is significantly lower than Duke's price.  In addition, Energy Alliances will continue to chase the rate. If the rates lower, the new lower rates will be blended in to result in an even lower price.

It is good to note that the last gas program saved the average resident a total of $115 during the program.  Combined across all residents and businesses hundreds of thousands have been saved.  Overall the program has always done what it is designed to do - protect residents from prices skyrocketing during the winter.
