Fire Station Project

Posted on: January 12, 2018 10:00 am

Recently Fairfield Township advertised a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for a new fire station build.  Five companies submitted an RFQ, including Cincinnati United Contractors (CUC), Conger, DAG Construction, Emersion, and Oswald.

The Board of Trustees accepted the recommendation of CEC Engineering to short list three firms for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process. These firms are CUC, DAG, and Oswald.

The formal RFP was emailed to the three short listed firms on February 8, 2018.  In order to read a copy of the RFP please Click Here. Work will continue to progress for the fire station build and updates will be given at Board of Trustee meetings, on social media, and here in the News section of the website as appropriate.

The Township received two RFP submissions on Friday March 23, 2018 - one from CUC and one from DAG.  Evaluations, scoring, and a recommendation from CEC were submitted to the Board of Trustees for consideration.  At the Board of Trustees Meeting on April 11, 2018, the Board unanimously voted to accept both proposals and award the contract to CUC.

On April 16, 2018, the Administrator, Zoning Administrator, and Fire Chief met with CUC to begin the planning process. At this time construction is slated to begin in July of 2018 with completion in March of 2019. A contract was officially approved by the Board on April 25, 2018 via resolution 18-71.

Thank you to all five firms who participated in the process at any level.
