Fairfield Township truly is a great place to live, work, and play!

2019 has been a tremendous year of growth and success throughout the Township.  A new fire station was officially opened on Gilmore Road and will serve the Township for many years to come.  Planned for future growth, the station is state of the art and replaces an outdated station on Tylsersville Road.

Plans have begun for Police Department renovations and a new Service Department building with the selection of a Criteria Engineer in August.  More to come on these efforts!

The Shafers Run Park has seen incredible change! New playground equipment has been installed and includes, picnic benches, shade umbrellas, rubber floors, and two areas - one for ages 2-5 and another for ages 5-12.  The Park has also seen the addition of a new and improved dog park with areas for both big and small dogs, new drainage, and a walking path. A master plan has been developed for the Millikin Road Park and includes ideas for a veterans memorial and resulted in a new name of Heroes Park of Fairfield Township.  Playground renovations at the Heroes Park Ave been approved and the Township was pleased to receive an ODNR Grant in the amount of $124,109 towards the renovations.  In addition a grant of over $200,000 he been submitted to the State for consideration towards the Veterans Memorial Park.

The police department has developed a brand new patch, mission statement, and vision plan.  Three new cruisers were purchased and are being converted to navy with new and improved striping and branding.  The Police Department joins the Fire Department in becoming more contemporary. LED signage at all buildings allow for increased communication and professionalism for the public.

These are just a few of the amazing changes that Fairfield Township has seen  Efforts will continue in all areas, including continued paving and striping plans, efficient snow removal, up to date technology, sensible economic development, and the addition of personnel to properly serve Fairfield Township residents.  Fairfield Township as a BRIGHT FUTURE and a PROUD HISTORY!
